Recently we visited the famous Keukenhof Gardens, and it was such a treat! We saw dozens of varieties of tulips, many different orchids, lots of other bulbs and other flowers. Well. It's been so long since I've posted, I hardly know where to start.Kevin left last Sunday, headed back to Iraq. He is now safely in Kuwait, where the battalion will spend a couple of weeks, and then on to the base in the Baghdad area. He is doing well...his commander is extremely supportive of Kevin's role as a chaplain, and the company commanders are almost all quite receptive as well.

One of the things we're having to get used to in the Army is this: don't believe anything until it actually occurs. The Artists in Residence for Art Declassified had a fun challenge...to use one stamp three different ways. I had a lot of fun making these projects using the Wire Tap stamp and other ADC stamps. I thought for Veteran's Day I would post pictures of my favorite vets. Kevin's grandfather served in the Navy in WWII (wasn't he cute?); my Dad served in the Army in Vietnam (here he is with my mom, pinning on rank), and of course, my honey is currently in Iraq (my own soldier hunk). Oh man, am I bummed. We got up early this morning to go to the Veteran's Cemetery with the Scouts, who were putting flags on all the graves. I got some awesome shots!! That is, I *would* have gotten some awesome shots, if my camera had only had the memory card inside! ARRRRRGH! I can't believe I did that. At least the flags are still there, so I can go back out later today and try again,
